it's been a very long time since i last blogged... 19 days to be exact, coz i'm already in holiday mood and not getting online very often... like today is the second time online for the past 4 days... lol... the haze from kalimantan indonesia these few days got me into a berserk mode, coz the air really stinks and i don't like it when the air stinks, especially of smoke... luckily the recent showers have improved the air quality and my mind is fresh and working fine... that's why i got so many things that i didn't blog about lorz...

13 oct, friday: open house... ok, open house is well-known to be quite screwed up, but then must portray an image that it's not that screwed up, but i can't help to say that it was a bit screwed up... it started at 10 and the first few sec4 students entering the school came at about 11 if i'm not wrong, too long ago can't really remember that well... the only thing that i find interesting out of the whole open house were the balloons hanging above the central plaza... reuse the maf lighting ropes, tie the balloons to the ropes... qutie a good idea, though i find it irritating as the balloons keep bursting throughout the whole open house... the performance at the central plaza was quite stupid, arranged 2 slots for each performing arts cca, so strings is the 2nd to go... then the stupid paava place the mic just right smack in front of my face and i can't even see the score! fake lorz, what to do, i sitting quite in front somemore... "why don't you try your best?" - quote from jap serial "trick 3"...

16 oct, monday: triple heart attack day... the return of the horror subjects... ok lar, not that horror, it's just that these subjects are those that i'm sure i confirm cannot get a/b/c... bio, maths, gp... that was what i thought initially... maths: c! not expecting to get c coz i was hoping a d instead... gp: d. expected lar, just 1 mark different from the marks i got in block test, so i'm ok with the results, though not satisfied (the! who satisfied with this kind of mark!) bio: b!! oooooo, i didn't really expect such a high mark... i predicted that i would get a d and c if lucky enough... probably because promo paper easier that lec test and block test... 不要高兴得太早, still got next year's a levels to cope with...

25 oct, wednesday: briefing for students eligible for h3... ok, so i can try t get a h3 module... but i'm still deliberating whether or not to take up a h3, coz under influences of others and listening to a lot of people, be it friends or teachers, it seems that h3 is like 分文不值, no use when go to uni unless taking the same module... i seriously dunno whetehr or not to take, but then i'm quite attracted by the syllabus of the h3 pharmaceutical chemistry, so i can't really decide until the dateline on 13 nov...

26 oct, thursday: last day of school... friday off because of deepavali on the previous saturday... it's a bit dumb coz only come to school just for principal's address and ct session, everything end at 10am... i feel a bit xian when i have to come to school for seriously nothing to do... something i feel very weird is how come we did not receive our result slips while other classes have received theirs? dun tell me even stamp money also want us to pay, if liddat then school a bit too cheapo, still want to save money on me this 3 room flat dweller? i dunno lar, just my opinion, getting quite anti-government lately for no reason... went to vivocity with some classmates after school, coz the geog essay writing workshop is cancelled... it's quite big (废话! or else why izzit called vivocity!) but then all the shops that are rather high class other than those fast food restaurants and the cinema... went ot earle swensen's for lunch, $(15+)++ for each set meal seems quite reasonable, unless you eat this everyday... went to catch "death note" with only 4 people left... the aircon for the cinema is damn shiok lorz, really cooling and 爽, the seats also very comfortable and no problem sitting on the front row coz it's not very straining to the neck... "death note" damn cool, the plot very nice and the actors are cool! can't wait for the 2nd part to be released soon...

27 oct, friday: trip to governmental buildings... ok, i went for my dental appointment to national dental centre (should be considered as governmental building)... i remembered the time of my appointment incorrectly, always thinking that it's at 2 and instead it was supposed to be at 1.30... i reached there late and i have no choice but to wait for the person who went in earlier to come out first before i get in... after dental appointment, i left for immigration and customs authority (ica) building to extend the dateline for my passport... i'm going to malaysia next month so need the passport to be valid for at least 6 months in advance of the trip... the photo on my passport was taken 6 years ago, so i had to change the photograph as well...

all timings are estimated and are not exact...

2:45 - approached 3rd floor information counter to ask for directions coz it says "singapore passport extension at 3rd floor" and the staff told me that the photo looked too different from now, so i had to proceed to 2nd floor to update my photograph...
2:59 - registered on the 2nd floor for photograph update... my queue nubmer is 7400 and the now serving number is 7320, so i went for a drink at the cafe on the 1st floor...
3.15 - returned to 2nd floor after my drink... now serving number is 7350...
3.20 - embarked on an exploration hike around the hdb estate at the opposite side of a canal near teh ica building... walked along 2 rows of shops at teh ground floor of 2 hdb flats, walked past a rather clean and acceptable hawker centre, walked along the remaining of north bridge road and turned into crawford street while noticing a construction site at the junction and ended up walking along lavender street/kallang road (can't remember) to return to ica building...
3.40 - return from exploration hike... now serving number is 7382... stayed in 2nd floor, sat on the floor and listen to my mp3 player while waiting...
3.55 - now serving nubmer is 7400... it's my turn at last... gave ic, gave photo, gave passport, wrote signature on 2 forms, surprisingly found out that the expiry date of my passport after this update of photo will become year 2010 which is jolly well after 2 years of ns, instructed to place my queue number on another counter at the other side of the building and wait for 45 mins while my passport is being processed...
4.20 - waiting time begins for passport collection... during this waiting period, some interesting things... (1) a man brought along his daughter to make passport, then asked when can he collect it... the staff told him to wait for his queue number to be called... i presume that something nasty happened before this and he was obviously very unsatisfied and said that it is unfair for him to wait for his queue number... if this is unfair to you, then it's unfair to the people waiting behind, especially me, to occupy the time of the staff at the counter where i'm supposed to collect my passport when it's ready... (2) a lot of children feel that their parents work at the ica building and treat the counters as their home, playing around with the chairs and twirling coz it's those kind of office chairs where you can turn 360 degrees non-stop if you wish to...
5.10 - at last it's time for me to collect my passport and scram out of the ica building... it's as crowded as it was 3 hours ago... i hope i do not have to always go there coz it's really a waste of time and you must be prepared to waste a day's time... who says government agencies are very efficient?????????? but no choice lar, coz the school holidays and the end of the year is approaching, hence a lot of people are rushing to ica building to get their passports done or extended......
